Amazon SageMaker JumpStart Adds Model Hub, One-Click Hugging Face Deploy, and Pre-Configured Endpoints
Amazon SageMaker JumpStart has introduced a new Model Hub, pre-configured deployment options optimized for various workloads, and single-click Hugging Face model deployment integration, streamlining the model discovery, evaluation, and deployment process for developers.
What changed?
Amazon SageMaker JumpStart has rolled out three key updates: a new Model Hub section in the SageMaker AI console for browsing and evaluating pre-trained models, pre-configured endpoint deployment options to prioritize cost, low latency, or general-purpose workloads (including Neuron-optimized settings), and a deep link integration that allows single-click deployment of models discovered on Hugging Face directly to SageMaker AI.

Why does it matter to an everyday developer?
These improvements reduce friction in model evaluation and deployment routines. Developers can now more easily discover compatible models, review their sample notebooks, and deploy them quickly with minimal configuration effort. The pre-configured endpoints help optimize for specific workload priorities without requiring deep infrastructure expertise. The single-click integration with Hugging Face further streamlines bringing popular models into AWS for testing and production use. However, compatibility still requires model-specific attention to payload formats, instance types, EULAs, and response schemas.
What can the developer do now?
Developers can browse the SageMaker JumpStart Model Hub in the console or programmatically, select and deploy pre-trained models with preferred endpoint configurations, and leverage official sample notebooks to evaluate performance. With the new Hugging Face deep link, deployment of third-party models is faster, supporting experimentation and benchmarking. After testing, developers should evaluate model performance, adjust endpoint parameters as needed, and remove endpoints when finished to manage cost.
